Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

HCS SB 992 -- PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT

SPONSOR:  Johnson (Rizzo)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Commerce and Economic Development by a vote of 20 to 0.

This substitute allows any city, town, or village in Missouri to
create by ordinance a historic preservation revolving fund.  The
substitute outlines how the funds can be used by the
municipality.  These uses include acquiring, preserving,
restoring, maintaining, and operating any historic property.

The substitute also authorizes Buchanan County to apply for a
grant from the Contiguous Property Redevelopment Fund
administered by the Department of Economic Development.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill is necessary so
Buchanan County can receive a grant from the Contiguous Property
Redevelopment Fund.

Testifying for the bill was Senator Johnson.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
